Specializing in water conscious and sustainable landscape design for over 15 years
Because our design process is very organic, we do not create formal blueprints or computer generated designs. During the first consultation we will listen to your ideas and provide a range of solutions and suggestions, identify problems and possibilities, and possibly provide plant recommendations. Our design will consider existing vegetation, the soils, site climate (wind & sun), drainage, slope, existing buildings and hardscape, wildlife habitat and property views. This information is critical to a well thought out design. We use a simple technique: an on-site design where we paint or flag the ground where trees and bushes would be planted and where pathways would be located. This is very helpful to give you a visual sense of the design.
All of our designs are created with the client's desires in mind and we ensure they maintain a level of sustainability and ease of maintenance. Our focus is on using plants that are locally or regionally native to the area. The result is a low maintenance landscape that lives in balance with itself. A properly planned garden should require minimal care and last for many years.
